Hello San Diego!

Yay finally my first blog post! So I’ve decided to write this post on my last trip this week-end to San Diego with Yassine.

We just wanted to take a small break from LA and, SD, being really close was the perfect choice!

I really wanted to check the San Diego Zoo out, especially the Safari Park, and we also went Whale Watching!

Our first day was all about the Safari Park! We actually forgot that it was Columbus day week-end, so it was really crowded but still you could really enjoy yourself!

If I had to compare the Safari Park to a regular zoo, the first thing would be the enclosures size. The animals had way more space and they also seemed happier in a way. It really felt like they were in their natural habitat.

Of course, the inconvenient is that you may not see them at all since they have all that space to hide!

I really enjoyed the day, we really liked the park and we are definitely going back to check out the zoo this time!

DAY 2 : Whale Watching

We started the day slow, we had lunch at Tender Greens in a cute little place next to the whale watching spot.

*note to self, write down the locations if you want to be taken seriously*

After the eye candy, let’s talk about the real topic: the whale watching experience.

We booked our tickets with a company that offered a “private viewing” experience. But, lucky as we are, the zodiac we were supposed to ride broke down.

We went with another company which didn’t offer the same service. We ended up on a boat with 30 other people.

Yeah it was definitely a tourist trap.

Still, we got to see a cute little grey whale on her way migrating to Mexico. They actually told us that it was the first one of the season, so at the end we got pretty lucky. (she didn’t jump or anything, don’t expect a crazy picture)

To resume: Safari Park YAY, Whale Watching NAY

That’s it for this weekend! I’m also thinking on posting a short video… Let met know if you want me to do it 😊  xx

  1. Hey Sarah,
Liked the post! We’ve visited the San Diego Zoo a few years ago, but I kind of get the impression that the park is better…giving the animals more space. πŸ‘πŸ»
